...and he sat alone. All he could think of was the last Question she asked.
" How could you do that?"
The Question, that changed his life. The Question, he had no answer for. The Question...
Tears rolled down his eyes when he looked at the crystal ring in his hand. The Token of his eternal love for her, which had always shined on her finger testifying that she belonged to him.
She no more had the ring. She no more wanted him. She no more belonged to him.
With blurry images in his mind, he recalled the beautiful days he spent with her.
" How could I do that?"... "How could I let lust take over me?"... "How could I betray the woman of my dreams?"... "How could I let one night change my destiny?"... "How could I... ?"
He sat there, in the dark, motionless, thinking about himself without her. With her sweet memories on his mind, he took the last sip of the slow poison... He refilled his Glass, which now was his only company for life...

@Scribbler.
:( :(
Why??
@tumblewords.
You bet, it is!!
aftre readin dis heartbreakin saga....m left rollin on da floor...cryin out loud.....
:-( :-( :-(.....
The story has everyone pondering over one thing -- Can one mistake destroy a happy family? I feel that the gal should have forgiven the husband. The guy was honest enough to admit the mistake. I think he deserves ONE last chance. Very gud choice of words...Small, yet so intriguing.
Unlike everyone else, I'm not so sure I feel sorry for him. Instead, my heart hurts for her... because even though he's sitting there holding the ring, he's sitting there thinking what if I hadn't done something so stupid... she's feeling even worse about what he did. "Was I not pretty enough? Did he not love me enough? Was there something I could have done differently?" And she, too, is mourning the loss of what they had.
@Prodigy(Faraz).
I know how "emotional" you are... ;)
@Karan.
It is how you percieve it. The "ONE" chance that you are talking about would not have even existed if the case was other way round... But again, my point here was that there are certain situations, wherein one loses, whatever might be the outcome...
@tc.
Hey... Thanks for dropping by...
More than anyone else, I agree with you. Certain things once done, can never be 'undone'. The guy here did exactly that.
Thanks for looking at it this way... :)
some things are just beyond forgiveness. i feel bad for the girl too, noone, accoding to me has the right to stamp the other's ego so bad..espcially when the other trusts you so much and when you mean the world to the other!
